Review: Ben Nye Luxury translucent face powder
in Banana.
I was browsing through some make-up tutorials on YouTube, when I kept coming across Ben Nye powder reviews. Ben Nye was originally created with performers and stage personalities in mind to create dramatic looks- it is said that it was widely used by drag queens, before it was made famous by Kim Kardashian. I saw that all reviews for this product were positive, so I wanted to know more. When I heard and saw that the Ben Nye Banana powder looked AMAZING on woman of colour, as a highlighter or all over powder. I was SOLD! I searched the internet and found 3oz which I bought on eBay. I love this stuff, I usually use it to set my under eye concealer and highlighter, and it works a charm. I couldn't quite believe a powder with such a light pigment would actually go on my skin without making me looking insane or just really pale, but it does. I think it's because it's so light weight and translucent, so it highlights without looking ashy or cake-y. The only thing I would say to my fellow oily-skinned ladies, is if your wearing it for a night out, or in a situation where your inclined to sweat more than usual, I would advise bringing it with you to top it up for a flawless finish. I have very oily skin, so much so that I exfoliate and cleanse (with tea tree cleanser), don't moisturise before putting on my make-up (only before going to bed), and I'm still blotting away my sheen an hour later. If you have normal to dry skin this shouldn't be a problem, and you should be able to apply it just the once. You can buy Ben Nye from a few places, here are a few links. If your not sure about what to use for your skin colouring, I would advice checking for YouTube tutorials of someone with a similar skin tone to check what their using, there are so many shades, so you'll be able to find the colour for you.
